The PALS Certification is a two-day course and is recommended for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies dealing with infants and children, including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and others who need a PALS course completion card for their job or other requirements.

• High-quality Child & Infant CPR with use of the AED

   

• Recognition of cardiopulmonary arrest and early application of CPR
   

• Recognition of respiratory distress, versus respiratory failure
   

• Interventions for respiratory distress and failure
   

• Recognition of compensated and hypotensive shock
   

• Interventions for the treatment of shock
   

• Stable versus unstable patients with cardiac arrhythmia
   

• Post–cardiac arrest management
   

• IV / IO Management
   

• Medication delivery techniques & problem solving
